Heber City is a mid-size town located on US Highway 189 just 17 miles south of Park City in the heart of the Heber Valley. Recreate in nearby Deer Creek and Wasatch Mountain State Parks. Visit the Heber Valley Aero Museum or capture stunning photographs as you take a steam engine tour on the Heber Valley Railroad.
Oakley is 17 miles northeast of Park City tucked against the Uinta Mountains and situated along the Weber River. This small community heaves with activity during the annual Rodeo and Fourth of July Celebration and anglers and sight-seers follow the Weber River in search of scenic landscapes and large trout. Enjoy a host of activities in the national forest and Weber Cottonwood Recreation Site.
Kamas, Utah is directly east of Park City located at the edge of Kamas Wildlife Management Area and is one of four ranger district locations in Wasatch National Forest. Camping is popular here as well as hiking and other outdoor activities. Don’t forget to take the stunning 70-mile drive on Mirror Lake Scenic Byway that runs between Kamas and Evanston, Wyoming.
The town of Midway is bordered by Jordanelle, Wasatch Mountain, and Deer Creek State Parks, 18 miles south of Park City. During summer, attend Midway Swiss Days or the Sheepdog Championships. In the wintertime, attack the trails on snowshoes or skinny skis at Soldier Hollow Cross-Country Ski Resort.
